Fluids are essential to the operation of any vehicle. The various fluids are subjected
to a wide range of demands. Lubrication and heat transfer are just two of the functions
of these fluids. In normal use they degrade and form or cause deposits, i.e., sludge
in the oil system; carbon deposits on valves and injectors in the fuel system; scale
deposits in the cooling system; varnish deposits in the transmission and power steering
rack; moisture in the brake fluid; and objectionable odors from the air conditioning
system. You can provide your car with more complete fluid services with Wynn's Seven
Service Program than by using conventional methods alone.

THE PROBLEM
Many original equipment manufacturers recommend vehicle oil changes every three
months or 3,000 miles. This meets most manufacturers severe maintenance requirements.
As a vehicle burns gasoline, it produces sludge which is comprised of water, unburned
gasoline, varnish, and metal particulate matter. Every vehicle is equipped with
an oil filter designed to remove this sludge and abrasive deposits. Unfortunately
an oil filter does not remove all of the sludge and deposits produced.
During normal oil changes, up to 3/4 of a quart of old, contaminated oil, sludge
and abrasives can remain in the engine. When the new oil is added to the engine,
it quickly mixes with the contaminated oil, and begins to circulate through the
engine. The result is that the new oil looks as dirty as the old oil, just like
it did before the oil change! When the new oil mixes with old oil, it can reduce
the effectiveness of your oil which may lead to problems in the engine that you
or your customers may not be aware of until something serious happens.
Even with frequent oil changes, harmful deposits along with oil buildup can result
in reduced compression, lowered horsepower, and reduced engine life. What is called
for is an alternate method of servicing your customers engine that will completely
clean out the additional residue, and ensure efficient engine performance and longer
engine life.

THE SOLUTION
The answer is Wynns® Supreme; Engine Cleaning System.
The Wynns® Supreme Engine Cleaning System flushes out
the old, contaminated oil from all engine parts and surfaces, ensuring a completely
clean engine system. When the new oil is added, it stays cleaner longer and you
can visibly see the difference. How does the system work?
Wynns® Supreme Engine Cleaning System works with two
specially developed products and a filter* that are all used in conjunction with
the Wynns® Supreme Engine Cleaning System. First, Wynns®
Internal Engine Cleaner is added to the machine. The cleaner is injected into the
engine, then circulated through the continuous closed loop system for 10 minutes,
while the vehicles engine is running. This allows the Wynns®
Internal Engine Cleaner to penetrate and clean engine surfaces and components. A
timer signals the end of the ten minute period. The machine and vehicle are turned
off. The old oil is then drained from the system.
Next, the engine cleaning machines air flush cycle is turned on. Low pressure
air is pushed through the engine, which forces all of the residual oil out of the
engine, making it ready to be filled with clean motor oil. After the addition of
clean motor oil, and new filter, Wynns® Supreme +Plus+
Oil Treatment is added to the engine. Wynns Supreme +Plus+ Oil Treatment
is so unique, its patented (U.S. Patent No. 4,557,841). Wynns®
Supreme +Plus+ Oil Treatment is compatible with all API service classifications.
The treatment enhances the lubrication, protection and deposit control properties
of engine oil, and protects the engine components from rust and corrosion.
*Dispose of filter in accordance with local state and federal regulations.

In normal vehicle operation, varnish, carbon deposits and corrosion build up and
restrict the flow of gasoline and air to the vehicle engine just when it needs it
most, during start up and acceleration. This process is common in all vehicles and
fuels. This is often why performance and fuel economy deteriorate as vehicles get
older. If left unchecked, these deposits can lead to more serious problems and costly
repairs. This problem is a common cause of driveability complaints.
With a Wynn's® Fuel System Tune-Up
A Wynn's Fuel System Tune-Up is easy to perform and will increase performance. A
significant increase in power and performance will be noticed. Emissions will go
down and gas mileage will improve. The service is performed in three steps. First,
Wynn's® Power Charge is added to the fuel tank. This begins
the cleaning process by removing deposits and eliminating exhaust odors. Next, the
air intake system is thoroughly cleaned. Wynn's® Air Intake Cleaner
is applied with the Envirospray® tool using shop air. Finally, Wynn's®
V.I.C. (a concentrated blend of organic cleaners, solvents, lubricants, rust and
corrosion inhibitors) is fed through the P.C.V. system with a specially provided
tool. This service will reach all critical areas of the combustion chambers, injectors,
valves and pistons. Power-robbing deposits are removed and the system is restored
to optimum operating condition.

The cooling system is probably the most neglected system in a vehicle. Engine coolant
deteriorates over a period of time, losing its ability to protect cooling system
components against rust, corrosion, and scale deposits. The resulting scale deposits
can seriously impair the effectiveness of the cooling system. Most automobile manufacturers
recommend a cooling system service every two years or 30,000 miles. Unfortunately,
some drivers neglect this service. Cooling system failure is the number one cause
of mechanical breakdown on the highway.
|
|
|
 |
With a regular cooling system service
A regular drain and fill service usually leaves about 50% of the old coolant behind,
in the engine block and heater core. When the new coolant is added, it is immediately
contaminated with the old coolant. The deposits left in the system will continue
to impair the efficient operation of the system.
With a Wynn's Cooling System Flush Service
The Wynn's Cooling System Flush service is performed using the new Wynn's PowerFlush
machine. The Wynn's PowerFlush machine is connected at the vehicle's upper radiator
hose using the supplied adapters without cutting hoses. Wynn's® Radiator
Flush is added to the vehicle's radiator and the engine is idled for five to ten
minutes. The flush dissolves harmful deposits and suspends them for easy removal
with the PowerFlush machine. A Wynn's Cooling System Flush Service will replace
about 95% of the old coolant with fresh coolant. The final step in the flush service
is to replace the original factory sealant removed in the process by adding Wynn's®
Radiator Sealant. In approximately twenty minutes, the car is ready to go.

A common problem with automatic transmissions is rough and hard shifting due to
poor maintenance. Nearly nine out of ten transmission failures are due to overheating
and fluid contamination, according to the Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Association.
Automatic transmission fluid suffers from heat, friction and contamination. As time
goes on, the transmission's vital parts begin to coat with sludge and varnish. According
to ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid) manufacturers, the addition of new fluid to
contaminated fluid can actually cause sludge and varnish deposits to clog filters
and restrict the flow of transmission fluid.
|
|
|
 |
With a regular transmission service
A regular transmission drain and fill service can leave as much as 75% of the old
ATF behind in the torque converter and transmission cooler. When new ATF is added,
it is immediately contaminated by the old ATF left in the system. The deposits left
in the system can seriously impact the proper operation of the transmission.
With a Wynn's® Transmission Flush Service
The Wynn's Transmission Flush service is performed using the Wynn's TranServe
or TranServeII machine. Either machine is powered by the vehicle's battery
and is connected to the transmission cooler line using the supplied adapters. Wynn's
Transmission Flush is added to the transmission with the engine idling. The flush
safely dissolves harmful deposits and suspends them for easy removal with either
machine. A Wynn's Transmission System Flush Service will replace up to 95% of the
old ATF with fresh ATF.

THE PROBLEM
Experts recommend periodic flushing or fluid exchanges of power steering systems.
All suppliers of re-manufactured or replacement power steering racks recommend flushing
the entire system of old fluid and contaminants when replacing a power steering
rack.
Historically, power steering system fluid service has been neglected, often due
to the lack of a convenient method for providing such flush or fluid change services.
Previous methods for flushing the power steering system or replacing the power steering
fluid were time consuming and often inefficient or incomplete.
Service neglect leads to power steering system complaints including poor handling,
hard or sluggish steering, and objectionable noise. These complaints can often be
attributed to fluid that has thickened due to oxidation, become contaminated or
undergone additive degradation over time. Fluid that has thickened due to oxidation
often results in hard steering when the fluid is cold. This commonly results in
a phenomenon called morning sickness. Also, over time, fluid leakage
from power steering system seals can often be attributed to seal deterioration from
continued contact with degraded fluid.
Previously, power steering fluid exchange, without the use of a machine, was accomplished
by disconnecting a low pressure hose and gravity draining the old fluid, then reconnecting
the hose and refilling the reservoir with new fluid. Such gravity draining did not
flush the old fluid from small passages or pockets in the system where old contaminated
fluid would settle, resulting in a very incomplete fluid exchange.
|
|
|

|
THE SOLUTION
The Wynns® Power Steering Flush Machine is a portable, lightweight,
easy to operate and efficient unit that flushes the system of old fluid and contaminants,
and refills the system with new fluid. This machine is designed to be used with
vehicles containing either conventional power steering fluid or ATF type power steering
fluid in the power steering system.
The basic flush and refill procedure is performed via the power steering fluid reservoir
and includes the following:
-
Draining the old fluid from the reservoir.
-
Refilling the reservoir with Wynns Power Steering System Flush.
-
Performing the flush process with simultaneous use of the suction hose and the supply
hose.
-
Performing the new fluid refill process with simultaneous use of the suction hose
and the supply hose.
Routine power steering fluid service is designed to extend the life of power steering
system components. The Wynns Power Steering Flush service helps prevent component
wear, keeps seals conditioned to help eliminate leaks, and provides the appropriate
fluid viscosity for maximum power steering system performance.
Note: Read and follow the Operating Instructions completely.
Caution: The Wynns 2-part flush kits No. 10176 and No. 10179 are not recommended
for use with Honda or Audi vehicles. Wynn's® Type H/A Power Steering
Fluid Kit No. 11001 is recommenced for Honda and Acura vehicles. Always verify the
proper type of power steering fluid before performing this service.
